IoT in the News: The Quantified Self

Journalist Gary Wolf delivers a TED talk that covers the small revolution in the consumer world where people seek to improve themselves by gathering data through various connected sensors they place on and around themselves; allowing them to track and calculate every nuance of their life, including how many steps they’ve taken in a week, how many calories they consumed and what the ambient temperature was. Wolf explains how using mobile apps and always-on gadgets allows the average person to track and analyze their body, mood, diet, and spending.
