Adam Hise

Adam Hise is a Research Analyst at Harbor. He assists in developing research and content in support of client engagements and interactions across all venues and project types. Adam has broad client experience in new opportunity assessment and strategy development for smart systems and services. His research and consulting work has focused on energy, manufacturing, buildings and oil & gas.  Adam has conducted several studies on commercial buildings including a market study that surveyed over 2000 people in the smart buildings market around the adoption of IoT technologies. Adam has also conducted engagements that look at the future of IoT platforms, network services and communication protocols, and analytics.

Adam’s interest in this space is motivated by the drive to leverage technological advances to improve social equity and reduce the detrimental environmental impacts of human development.  Prior to joining Harbor, he received his MS in Environmental Engineering at UNC Chapel Hill, where he evaluated the technical feasibility, environmental impacts, and economic competitiveness of novel renewable energy generation methods.  He remains a Hokie at heart, graduating from Virginia Tech with a BS in Biological Systems Engineering and a minor in Green Energy.

In his spare time, Adam is likely to be found outside taking advantage of all that Boulder has to offer.  He likes to snowboard, mountain bike, fish, and hike, though he often winds up simply retreating into the Flatirons and lounging in a hammock.
